14 Papuan kangaroos die in Ragunan

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A total of 14 Papuan kangaroos were found dead in Ragunan Zoo, South Jakarta. They were allegedly attacked by wild dogs.

 "Veterinary examination showed that kangaroos dead due to several bite wounds," Head of Public Service in Ragunan Zoo, Bambang Triyono said on Thursday.

A team of veterinarians found bites trace on the neck, legs and abdomen. It resulted serious bleeding to kangaroos.

The wild dogs are allegedly belonging to residents around Ragunan Zoo. After the incident, Manager of Ragunan Zoo checked entire area on the zoo. Finally, officers arrested three wild dogs. They will be examined for 14 days ahead at Animal and Fish Health Center (BKHI).
