REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Government has issued Minister Regulation No.32/M-DAG/2013 to manage better tin industry in Indonesia. The new regulation is expected to respond governance debate on tin export.

Director of Indonesian Resource Studies (IRESS), Marwan Batubara said that with the new regulation, tin export was only through one door, Indonesian Tin Price Exchange (BTDN).

"However, so many brokers and traders are protested the regulation and it is supported by local leaders," Batubara said on Monday.

Some parties asked government to revise the regulation. It is afraid to burden improved management of national tin industry.

IRESS asked government, particularly Minister of Trade and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to be consistent and not to be affected by those efforts.

This regulation is believed to increase state revenues.
