REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan which is predicted to be the presidential candidate of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) said that he was not thinking about his chance to be a presidential candidate.
"Who says I will be a candidate, up to now I don't think about it because there are still many tasks to be done as the Governor of West Java," Heryawan said on the sidelines of the first review of the operation of Pangrango Railways from Sukabumi to Bogor in on Saturday.
He also denied having been invited by the party central leadership of PKS on the plan of his future candidacy, the number one man in the West Java just told reporters that he had to go home to Jakarta and there was no invitation of DPP PKS about it.
According to Aher, now he will not think too much let alone to be a presidential candidate, because, he said, his job is not the presidential candidate but as a Governor of West Java and just as an ordinary person.
In fact, he does not want the presidential candidacy issues, which rose from PKS internal support, will be a public polemic.
"I do not have to think too much and do not want to talk about the chance for candidacy, because currently, I am on the tasks to realize my [last election] campaign promise," he added.
Asked about whether he was ready to be submitted as presidential hopeful by PKS, Aher just saying that it's up to the party's decision and, he said, there are many more popular PKS cadres than him. Aher admitted that his only goal is to make West Java the best province in Indonesia.
"No first thought to be a candidate, because I am still the Governor of West Java and moreover there is no intention to think about candidacy, we'll see what happen in the future because PKS has many figures with high electability," Aher said.
