Dwisca Kartinia has a strong maternal instinct. "It was my instinct as a mother," she said. But Nia, the 54 years old mother usually called, is more than a mother. She has a golden heart. The SOEs-PGN employee is a hero, a hero of humanity. Since receiving a chain of messages on her blackberry device and from a radio program, he opened the social media on the internet. She stared at the picture of Alma Aini Hakim, a boy of eight years. His curly hair is cute. Because of that, she is determined to search from the starting point: Monas monument. It's not so far from her office. On that Wednesday (30/10) she had to realize her resolve. One and a half hours she searched for the boy in the place which is the heart of Indonesia.

Around 18:00, she found a cheerful girl. Together with Suci Ramadani (5 years), he was riding a bike. There is something new. Because when he was first found by Aja Suharja (51 years), Alma was not able riding a cycle. That day, its exactly five days he was gone. On Saturday (29/10) he was separated from his sister and aunt. He was buying fried foods, while her aunt was busy taking care of a lost laptop and cell phone. Monas atmosphere that day was much more crowded than usual. That day there was a marathon race.

The missing of Alma news shocked the public when Roy Julian Hakim, Alma's father, wrote in his Facebook account about the loss of his son on Tuesday (29/10). From there, the message circulated. Not only on Facebook but also on Twitter, messenger, as well as in the mainstream media such as the web, newspapers, radio, and television. Thus there was euphoria of public concern, although there was skepticism. Understandably social media is often crossed hoax news, jokes, and fraud.

However, such euphoria was not approached Aja. He was just the slightest little people. He is just a man who rents out bikes in the crowd Monas, just a few steps from the National Palace and the office of governor of Jakarta. He lived in a tent with Suci, his daughter, in the grove of Monas. Coming from Rengasdengklok, Karawang, he did not have enough money to be able to hear the news. He also did not have the guts and insight to report the discovery of Alma to police. Aja is the perfect portrait of helplessness.

However, Aja is a man with glory. Poverty does not turn his hearth black. We pretty much hear the cruelty of big cities: the sale and abduction of children, child slavery too.

Instead he gave clothes, food, and shelter. He also gave the peace and warmth of a family. He taught Alma on cycling. However, Alma is also a strong personal. He did not whine, do not upset, and not depressed. He was not home sick. He refused to go home, although Aja had to borrow money to hire Bajaj. There appears a 'hassle' in Alma family. A social portrait that is not simple.

Alma's case awakens us all. It's wrong if we are so pessimistic and skeptical about the future of this country. There are so many caring, warmth, and clarity among us. Even all of it resonates, amplitude. Do not walk alone. There is a chain that spread the message, there is reportage. And, finally, there is someone who does it.

Aja and Nia are the tops of the iceberg for the future of Indonesia. Everyone is a hero, but Aja and Nia are the points. Suci was a hero for her hospitality and friendship. However, the purity of Indonesia was unobstructed by superstructure line. They neither were nor cared by their leaders. There was no acknowledgment, let alone appreciation, to Aja and Nia. There was no appreciation from official institutions, and social institutions as well as individuals who are powerless. Thus, the story of Alma then gone away. As if the event was not meaningful enough.

No, this is the 'rediscovery' of our Indonesia-ness. This is the identity of this nation. This is the noble ideals of the Founding Fathers: to build humanity and unity. Do not let Alma story passed by you. Let's show it.

However, we have to admit that the story is not merely the story of the heroism and optimism. There are a lot of records. For example, we question the capacity of the police, the manager of the monument, and related offices in the city government. Alma was still around Monas. He never had been too far away. Then why should we wait five days to find Alma? Why a layman like Nia should has to find him? What if Alma found by the bad guy?

Again this is because of Aja and Nia. "I deliberately search for Alma as I get BBM broadcast and radio. After doing my work, I was looking for about a half hour. Finally I see the boys were playing a bike," Nia said.

"I noticed from afar, my son was playing with a girl. My son is quickly familiar to others as usual. However, I noticed that this really late into the night to keep playing with Suci. I give him food, clothing, shelter, and teach cycling," Aja says.

I was reminded of my friends Facebook status, a journalist, Enton Supriyatna Sind: "Fortunately for Indonesia. There are many good citizens, who can take over the role when the government forgot to run it."

Power of the people is much more powerful than any. It is time we get back to this awareness, as when the Founding Fathers together freed the country. We can take over the role in every way, when people with given mandate actually were negligent, neglectful, even treasonous. People are the real strength of any nation. Without people there is no homeland, no country.

Let's start, from the indicated point. What is Aja doing today? Have you eaten today? Did you ask Suci to go to school? Nia, what else the awesomeness you can show to this country?

Aja and Nia is the motherland. You hug Alma to be evidence of the genuineness of this nation, which is now covered by the falsehood of leaders. You're the hero. Happy heroes day for you. On Sunday, tomorrow.
