REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) shared the recipe of success, also widely known as tips and tricks for netizens, for the presidential hopeful who will be a presidential candidate in Indonesia's 2014 elections.

He advised the candidates to communicate directly to the people.

"In case, there is among our friends who feel he has high popularity, but [he has] less capacity, so improve it. If Allah [SWT] ordained him to be a leader, he will be a capable leader. But otherwise if he feels capable, but has less popularity, so be popular," he said.

According to him, those who intend to be a leader must be able to measure his self-worth. Because, the government would not be in a position to prohibit anyone to participate in the political competition

The limit of personal worthiness or unworthiness is wholly determined by the individual.

"We cannot disallow. The one who responsible to measure whether he is ready or not ready or less encouraged, so that later, when he is ready, there will be no doctrine, no fixed rule," he said.

SBY was trying to give the sense that he does not have a relevant interest of the suggestions, because he is, by law, no longer able to run for presidential candidacy in 2014 election.

"I can say this because I am not a candidate. Because of it, I think in my opinion, anyone who would lead the country, he should be fully prepared," he said.
