Bank Mandiri asks Diebold to reveal gratification data

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State owned bank company, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk asked manufacturers of automated teller machine (ATM) from the United States (US), Diebold Inc to disclose data related to allegations of irregularities of ATM procurement of state owned banks.

President Director of Bank Mandiri, Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that Diebold had all data and documentations related to procurement of ATM machine and gratification of three state owned banks in five years.

"Diebold must know the details. I asked the company to speak to media to be more objective. Bank Mandiri has no data," Sadikin said recently.

Sadikin claimed that ATM procurement in Bank Mandiri was conducted transparently. Company also has reported the case to Bank Indonesia (BI) and Financial Services Authority (OJK). However, he still refused to explain it more detail.

Recently, Chairman of Board of Commissioners in OJK, Muliaman D Hadad said that OJK and BI had coordinated related to the case.

"We are also waiting for steps taken by Minister of State Owned Enterprises. Currently, banking supervision is still under BI," Hadad said.
