REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BIAK -- Local government of Noemfoor Biak, Papua builds a modern learning center in 2013 with the use of special autonomy fund allocation worth eight billion IDR over the two year budget. Head of Department Education in Biak, Hendri Jan Rumkabu said that the building construction is still prepared.
This modern learning center is located at center of Biak. To support the construction, Biak is partnering with The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and World Bank.
"This modern learning center will be equipped with a library, auditorium and also playground for education. It will become an educational mall," Rumkabu said recently.
Local government, Unicef and World Bank have conducted comparative studies in Singapore. If the learning center is completed, there are only three in Indonesia, Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Biak. The building will open every day at 08.00 AM to 09.00 PM (local time).
"I am optimistic that the learning center will very support educational program in Papua," Rumkabu said.
The first phase of construction development will spend four billion IDR.
