Halim Perdanakusumah airport opened for regular flights

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Halim Perdanakusumah airport will be opened for regular flights. Some airline companies show interests to use the airport, like Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, AirAsia Indonesia and Merpati Nusantara. 

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura II, state owned airport operator, Iwan Krishadianto predicted the airport would be ready next month.

"Halim Perdanakusumah airport is ready for regular flights in October or November 2013," Krishadianto said recently.

Krishadianto said airport revitalization to be completed in December 2013. However, initially number of regular flights would be limited due to limited capacity of departure lounge at the airport.

Currently Halim Perdanakusumah airport can accomodate 48 flights per day. The airport can operate 16 hours per day with three flights per hour.
