REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Fourteen universities in Southeast Asia established multidisciplinary and multisectoral collaboration to anticipate endemic diseases under tyhe umbrella of One Health concept.

''It is still an initial stage. If it is well implemented, government and many institutions can join this cooperation," Indonesian Deputy Minister of Health Ali Ghufron Mukti said recently.

Mukti who is also the Chairman of South East Asia One Health University (Seaohun) said the first step was to socialize concept of One Health then enlist universities which have joined the concept.

Mukti said this cooperation would produce future leaders with One Health concept. Hence, Seaohun will provide training and will provide scholarships. With this partnership, Seaohun wants to build a network with various institutions to address new diseases and re-emerging diseases.
