REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Wilfrida Soik, female migrant worker from East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, will get verdict in Malaysia on September 30, 2013. Executive Director of Migrant Care, Anis Hidayah explained that Soik was sentenced to death penalty by public prosecutors.

"We still have time. We can fight for Soik, so judge can reject this death penalty," Hidayah said on Monday.

Soik was charged of killing her employer. However, Hidayah said that she did not intended today that.

Soik was lured a large salary by broker who was sent her to Malaysia as domestic worker. Whereas, Indonesian government still suspended placement of migrant workers to Malaysia at that time.

"It could be that Soik is a victim of human trafficking syndicates across country with a forged mode of recruitment age to 21 years," Hidayah said.
