Garuda Indonesia ready to fly 90,108 hajj pilgrims

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State owned airline company, PT Garuda Indonesia is ready to fly 90,108 Hajj pilgrims from Sepember 10-19, 2013. This figure show a decline from  last year's 112,688 hajj pilgrims.

"This is because quota reduction by government of Saudi Arabia by 20 percent," Vice President of Corporate Communications Pujobroto said recently.

The departure flight will be held on September 10-October 9, while the returning flight on October 20-November 19. Government also sets Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to serve hajj pilgrims of Jakarta. Previously, they flew through Soekarno Hatta International Airport.

Pujobroto said Garuda Indonesia would operate 12 wide body aircrafts, consisted of nine Airbus 330 with capacity of 375 seats, two Boeing 747-400 with capacity of 455 seats and one Boeing 777-300 with capacity of 440 seats. Aircraft tender process was conducted transparently and published in national and international print media.
