VP: Islamic religious school will be an example to the world

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Vice President of Boediono said Indonesian Madrasa (Islamic religious school in Indonesia) can be an example and model for other countries. The school system provides Islamic as well as regular educational curriculum. 

"We do not want if Islamic religious school accomodates input from outside sources that spread hatred and monopolizes truth," Boediono said recently.

In Indonesia, Islamic religious school becomes an educational institution that becomes antithesis to radicalism and terrorism among Muslims youth. Islamic religious school is an educational institution that teaches tolerance, democracy, state education, science and technology. Boediono also asked Indonesian people to respond the popular accusation that "madrasa" is a breeding ground of radicalism.

Islamic religious schools have many variations defends on the political, economic, social and cultural places.
