Some Papuans of Morning star flag welcoming Freedom Flotilla Ship

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA - Sorong Regional Police found the flag hoisting of Morning star -symbol of Free Papua Movement- during a welcoming ceremony upon the arrival of Freedom Folatilla in Papua. 

"Organization requested a permission to hold a sermon to welcome Feedom Folatilla ship," Police Chief of Sorong, Com Harry Goldenhardt said recently.

That event which took place in a hall started at 02.00-05.00 pm, but at 

05.30 pm, Chairman of Papuan Customary Council, Apolos Sewa rose Morning star flag in hall. Police then directly secured Sewa and his friends, Yohanes Goram, Samuel Klasjok and Amandus Mirino, adn confiscate the flag. 

Goldenhardt said, in investigation was known that they had declared establishment of State Federal Republic of West Papua. They also had formed a government structure.

"They wanted to separate themselves from Homeland. They declared establishment of state that already existed," Goldenhardt said.

Although four persons named as suspects, but no one was detained because there were some solicitations from their families and suspects have promised to abide by legal process and would be cooperative. Police considered all defendants have family members who would also face difficulties when they were detained. All suspects were released on Thursday night on August 29, 2013 and they were requested to report to Sorong Police Station twice per week. Aa
