Minister: Volkswagen to build its factory in Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Hatta Rajasa said German automaker, Volkswagen AG was ready to invest and to build its factory in Cikampek, West Java. 

"They said Indonesian market condition was good," Rajasa said on Friday after received a representative of Volkswagen AG, Christian Kringler in Jakarta. 

Volkswagen AG will build investment in an area of 60 hectares and German company's plant will be second largest in Asia after China. Initial plan regional development of automotive assembly plant worth 200 millin euros is expected to begin in 2014 and completed in 2017. Rajasa had not yet revealed more details of incentives facility related to Volkswagen AG.
