PDIP: Jokowi will not follow convention of Democratic Party

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Secretary General of Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Tjahjo Kumolo said he was sure that Governor of Jakarta (popularly known as Jokowi) would not follow convention of Democratic Party. 

"Jokowi is a cadre of PDIP and he understands internal mechanism in PDIP. I'm sure he will not follow that convention," Kumolo said recently.

Kumolo said PDIP did not rush to pick any presidential candidate in the upcoming 2014 election. PDIP still asseses dynamics of national politics that tends to grow and maneuvers of figures.

Based on party's ethics, presidential nominations is decided by chairman of party in a national meeting. PDIP will hold a national meeting in Ancol, Jakarta on September 6, 2013.
