Tourists flock to Borobudur and Prambanan during Eid holidays

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA - Number of tourist visiting Borobudur and Prambanan temple is predicted to rise during Eid holidays this year. As usual, every visitor must wear batik sarong as a symbol of respect to both sites.

President Director of PT Taman Wisata (Tourism Park) of Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko Temples, Poernomo Siswoprasetjo, said the rule of wearing batik had been conducted in the last few years. The company is a state owned enterprises in charge with management temple attractions. 

"This policy is an antempt to respect the site of Borobudur Temple in Magelang regency as the World Cultural Heritage and Prambanan Temple," Siswoprasetjo said on Thursday.

Visitors need not worry as the management has provide batik sarong in sufficient number for visitors of Borobudur and Prambanan temple. The sarong comes in size 140 by 60 cm for adult and and 100 by 40 cm for kid. 

After paying the ticket pass, member of management staff will lend the sarong to visitors before they enter temples. Visitors can wrap the sarong around their waists then they are ready to enter the sites.
