REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Assembly of Indonesian Young Intellectuals and Ulama (MIUMI) plans to send delegation to Egypt. Secretary General of MIUMI, Bakhtiar Nasir said Indonesian delegation would meet political figures in Egypt to lobby and seek peaceful solution.

"This plan as an answer to the call of Al-Azhar Scholars Advisor, Hussein as Syafii that asks Indonesian Muslims to help Egyptian people," Nasir said on Tuesday.

So far, scholars from around the world gathered in Egypt to discuss a number of topics, including jurisprudence, worship and community issues. Nasir said the plan did not contradict with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's appeal. Earlier, the president asked Indonesians in Egypt to stay clear from Egyptian domestic problems.

Chairman of  Indonesian Muslim Scholar Association (ICMI), Marwah Daud Ibrahim said murder in Egypt was not merely statistical. She believes, avoiding clash and violence is the first step should be taken by both sides in Egypt.
