REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - United States Ambassador to Indonesia, Scot Marciel will complete his work in Indonesia in few days. After visiting several Indonesian government institutions, Marciel also visited Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"I just came to bid farewell," Marciel said after a meeting with the leadership of KPK on Tuesday.
Marciel arrived at KPK building around 11.00 AM. He met with several KPK's leaders, such as Abraham Samad and Zulkarnain. The meeting lasted about half an hour.
After the meeting, Marciel told reporters at the Commission that his visit related to his duties as US Ambassador to Indonesia that would end soon. Marciel also expressed his parting words to the leadership of KPK.
"I have spoken many times that the success of democracy in Indonesia and eradication of corruption are very important," Marciel said.
Marciel was appointed as the ambassador of United States to Indonesia since August 2010. He grew up in Fremont, California. He graduated from University of California at Davis and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
