REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia is still negotiating Saudi Arabia over some unsed hajj operational assets. Currently Saudi will implement new policy over facilities and operational assest for each country, in which potentially causes some of Indonesian facilities left unused.

'We hope Saudi can provide some flexibility for Indonesia since our haj pilgrims have specific character in number as well as in management," Director General Hajj and Umrah at Ministry of Religious Affairs, Anggito Abimanyu, said in weekend.

The limitation includes over operational vehicles for Indonesian hajj. Currently Indonesia has 132 units of vehicles consisting of buses, ambulances, and multi purpose vehicles (MPVs). With the new policy, Indonesia cannot use them and must rent vehicles from Saudi government instead.

Without some exception, the limitation only hurts and disrupts hajj operational including hajj pilgrims from Indonesia. "Our hajj pilgirms are huge in number and we have our own vehicles in Saudi. We need some exception, otherwise it's more costly," Abimanyu added.
