REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Mount Rinjani is the second highest volcano in Indonesia at Lombok Island with a height of 3,726 metres above the sea level. The beauty of the mountain makes the location as a tourist attraction which can draw local and foreign visitors. 

Tourists usually climb Rinjani during July - August in the dry season. Popular tract starts from Sembalun to Rinjani Summit, Lake Segara Anak, and Senaru.

Lake Segara Anak or literally translated into 'Son of Sea Lake' , formed from caldera, offers you the other side of Mount Rinjani. In the middle of the lake, there is a volcano names 'Baru Jari' which mean 'The New Mountain.' Although it is small and quiet, this mountain is still an active volcano.

The lake is called 'Son of Sea Lake' because of its surface resembles the color of the sea. Around Lake Segara Anak, there are stretches of hills and pine trees. Generally, climbers usually use the location as a rest area with facilities for fishing, swimming or bathing in the hot springs. You can hire a porter 150 thousand IDR to carry your goods as long as not heavier than 25 kilogram.
