REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA - The New Zealand government will provide 20 million IDR for Papua Community Policing program. The program will begin in September 2013.

New Zealand Ambassador for Indonesia, David Taylor said the fund was allocated to train police officers serving in Papua. "It includes handling and reporting practises. The purpose is to foster relations between community and police in Papua," he said on Tuesday.

Taylor said this training followed similar program in 2009-2010. According to Papuan Police Chief Inspector Tito Karnavian, representatives of Papuan police from each regency will become coach for his member in their serving areas. New Zealand expects the program will support law enforcement in Papua.
