Govt promotes 'three zeros' to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA - Government promotes a program called "three zeros" to prevent HIV and AIDS in Indonesia. 

"Three zeros are decreasing death, discrimination, and new infection," Vice Minister of Health, Ali Ghufron Mukti, said on Saturday after Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum discussing on Health Working Group (HWG) Policy Dialogue on Getting to Zero HIV and AIDS.

He added that those who had been infected must be cured early. He said that people had raised their awareness to prevent the virus. "We have seen that the number of people asking for the prevention is increasing in several regions," he said.

Jakarta is in the first place among other provinces with highest rates of HIV an AIDS. Papua sits on the second.
