REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia and South Korea aimed to conclude talks a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) by the end of 2013, Indonesian Minister of Trade, Gita Wirjawan, stated in the press release as he met with South Korea's Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Yoon Sang-jick in Seoul.
"The agreement is expected to draw more investment from Korea into Indonesia and also provide capacity building program for the country," Wirjawan said on Saturday. He hopes that the agreement, expected to be mutually beneficial, upholds the spirit of partnership.
In his three day visit to Korea, Wirjawan also met the Chairman of South Korea's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kim Jong-hoon. Jong-hoon said that he supported Indonesian and South Korea to take the advantage of CEPA.
The first and second meeting of Indonesia-South Korea CEPA which agreed on Terms of Reference (TOR) of Indonesia-South Korea CEPA were held on July 12, 2012 and December 11-12, 2012 in Jakarta. The third meeting is scheduled to be held in May 29-31, 2013.
