REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian House of Representatives and Serbian National Assembly sign an agreement to boost cooperation of the two countries legislative bodies.
"In principle, both sides will work together. Serbian Parliament wants to learn monitoring system from us," the Speaker of Indonesian House of Representatives, Marzuki Alie, said on Monday after signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Serbian Parliament.
During the signing, the House encourages both parties to boost cooperation in various strategic sectors, such as economy, investment, tourism and others. "Their visit is also to increase relations that has been built since 1961," Alie said and added his support on expanding G to G and parliamentary cooperation between two countries.
The Speaker of Serbian National Assembly, Nebojsa Stefanovic, said Serbian Parliament intended to boost cooperation and learned about monitoring, controlling and democracy in Indonesia. He added that Serbian Parliament encouraged the increasing of economic cooperation between Serbia and Indonesia by inviting Indonesian investors to visit Serbia.
He said that the agreement provided a framework for both countries to exchange views on crucial matters, speed up ratification, open a new opportunities as well as decrease obstacles on regulation.
