REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian Ministry of Industry believes that investment in automobile sector, particularly low cost and green car (LCGC) and low carbon emission car (LCEC) will boom in 2013. "The market is high," Minister of Industry, MS Hidayat, said on Monday.

However, the investment awaits the issue of Governmental Regulation on low carbon emission project (LCEP). Hidayat said the regulation would be issued soon. The regulation rules that the cars have to meet the standards of Euro 2 and use non-subsidized fuel.

Acting Head of Fiscal Policy at the Ministry of Finance, Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro, said the ministry would give the incentive for the producers of LCGC. Yet again, the ministry is waiting for the regulation. "The Governmental Regulation on LCGC will focus on tax incentive," he said.

Those that can obtain the incentive must produce the car with the Euro 2 standards and the location of the manufacture must be in Indonesia.
