REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian state-owned bank, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), plans to open its branch in Singapore. The bank will submit for the permit this year.

"The concept is a full branch, trade finance and remittance," Director of Finance of BRI, Ahmad Baiquni, said on Thursday.

With the opening of a branch in Singapore, BRI is expected to become the national payment agent in 2015-2016. Baiquni said BRI would still focus on serving middle-low companies through market penetration and expansion this year. The bank will also build 4,000 units of ATM and 600 branch offices.
