REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The father of Coordinating Minister of Economy Hatta Rajasa, Muhammad Tohir Achmad, died on Wednesday morning at the age of 89 in Gatot Subroto RSPAD Hospital.

"He suffered from alzheimer," the Head of National Mandate Party (PAN) Central Board, Bima Arya, said on Wednesday. The late Tohir Achmad had been hospitalized for two weeks.

Hatta Rajasa admitted that his father had been sick since 2010 when Rajasa's mother died. "He suffered memory loss," Rajasa said.

The remains were laid in River Park GH No. 15 Bintaro, South Tangerang, before buried in Tanah Kusir Cemetery. Rajasa said his father once told him that he refused to be buried at Heroes Cemetary even though he had service medals on military.
