REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - In her state visit to Indonesia, President of Argentina Cristina Elisabet Fernandez de Kirchner attended a dinner banquet thrown by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the Presidential Palace on Thursday night.
SBY gave a warm welcome to Kirchner, who came to Jakarta during a flood. Both leaders earlier met on Thursday afternoon to hold bilateral meeting and sign three Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU signed during the meeting are agreement on flight service, agriculture and investment. Both countries agree to provide flight service from Indonesia-Argentina through Sydney, Australia.
Kirchner is in Indonesia for three days, from Wednesday to Friday. She is also scheduled to hold a business forum with Indonesian and Argentinian businessmen.
Argentina is Indonesia's third biggest export market, after Brazil and Mexico, in Latin America. While Indonesia is Argentina's biggest trade partner in ASEAN. The total of bilateral trade in 2011 was 1.94 billion USD. Until October 2012, the bilateral trade reached 1.67 billion USD.
