REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, AMBON - Ambon City Government seeks partnership in a number of sectors with Kyoto, Japan. Ambon has become the sister city of Darwin, North Australia, and Vlisingen, Netherlands.

Mayor of Ambon, Richard Louhenapessy, said Kyoto prefered to a partnership city instead of sister city.

"Since Kyoto to be our partnership city instead of sister city. Then we have submitted our offering and now expecting the response, hopefully in the near future," Louhenapessy said on Wednesday.

Besides Kyoto, Ambon opens for cooperation with other countries to develop and improve welfare in Ambon. "The more opportunities, the better. They will see that Ambon has potency," he said. The examples of mutual cooperations, he said, were the between Ambon and Vlisingen or Ambon and Darwin.
