REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKALONGAN - Government prepares 25 million doses of vaccine for poultry to improve immunity to avian influenza (H5N1) clade 2321 in Indonesia.

"Population of ducks in Indonesia is almost 50 millions. Some of them are isolated cue to the virus attack," Minister of Agriculture, Suswono, said on Saturday.

For the first stage, government will distribute two million doses of vaccine in endemic regions. He emphasized that the current outbreak, killed more than 200,000 ducks, was not considered as hazard. No human has been infected by the virus so far. However, the virus inflicts losses to breeders. Government will compensate for their loss due to culling process.
