REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Minister of State-owned Entreprises, Dahlan Iskan, claimed that the car accident involving his new electric car, Tucuxi, in Magetan on Saturday was not a crime. "It is part of science," Minister Dahlan argued on Tuesday.

He emphasized that the accident was a good lesson in technology. Tucuxi is made without a gearbox and an electric car without gearbox causes the car to be heavier in descending road. Dahlan explained that he had to hit the brakes as strong as he could while passing descending road.

"Even the control system did not help," he said.

He added that the test-drive must be conducted in ascending and descending roads. "We cannot see its pluses and minuses if we test the car in Sentul," he said, cited a motosport race track in Bogor.

Dahlan admitted that he was astonished with the car since during the ascending road in Solo-Tawangmangu route, the car climbed with full power. However, the car lose control while the road started to descend.
