REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - After a pause, Foxconn as the biggest manufacturer from Taiwan, is ready to carry on its investment in Indonesia this year. Minister of Trade Gita Wirjawan confirmed that the largest electronic components maker would build a manufacture in Indonesia.

Foxconn delayed its investment after it acquired a Japanese company. Now Foxconn has confirmed to the Chairman of Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Chatib Basri, and Minister of Industry MS Hidayat that they have settled an agreement with local partnership.

Foxconn, producing components for Apple, iPhone and other handsets, initially planned to operate in Indonesia on December 25, 2012. The new settlement may cause the operation halts until March or June 2013. Its investment in Indonesia is worth 8-10 billion USD.
