Raja Ampat, stunning islands in West Papua, Indonesia, is chosen to be the next location of Hollywood reality show Survivor. The shooting would be started in April - July 2013, Director of Indonesian Film Industry at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Syamsul Lussa, said.
"Many foreign producers are interested to make film or documenter in Indonesia," Lussa said. The French version of Survivor, Koh-Lanta, also took place in Raja Ampat in its 11th season.
He expects the coming of foreign producers to Indonesia will yield foreign exchange for Indonesian Government as well as free tourism promotion. Lusa also hopes that the producers can recruit local people for the shooting.
"The shooting promotes Indonesian tourism. Seeing Raja Ampat, people will be astonished for its natural beauty," he said.
