REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - A member of House of Representatives urges Indonesian Government to send diplomatic notes to Malaysia over rape case of an Indonesian involving three Malaysian Police.
"President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono must send diplomatic notes for the cruelty towards Indonesian worker," a member of Commission IX at the House, Rieke Diah Pitaloka, said on Monday.
Indonesian Government, she added, must form an investigation team to ensure that the convicts were sent to trial. Government is also suggested to study Memorandum of Understand (MoU) between Indonesia-Malaysia on Indonesian workers working in domestic sector.
An Indonesian worker, SM (25 years), said that she was raped by three Malaysian Police on Friday, November 9. Having only a copy of her passport, she was taken to police office. SM begged to be dismissed. Instead of releasing her, the police raped her.
She was forced not to tell to anybody. However, she reported the case to Malaysian Chinese Association. The three police were arrested shortly after that.
