REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON - Arsenal Football Club gifts Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono two personalized shirts. SBY is given number 1 shirt with the name SBY printed on the back. Another shirt is number 13 with the name Indonesia.
The shirts are long-sleeved red shirt with white sleeve and black and red accent. The gift was presented on Thursday by Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis and Chief Commercial Officer Tom Fox at No 10 Downing Street, the office of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron, as reported by Esthi Maharani from Republika.
The official site of Arsenal FC says 'the Gunners' is delighted to announce that the first-team squad will play a match in Jakarta, Indonesia during the summer of 2013.
"We know that Arsenal enjoy fantastic support in Indonesia and we are all looking forward to bringing the Club closer to these loyal fans and learning more about the country’s rich heritage and culture,” Gazidis said.
He added that everyone at Arsenal was extremely excited to once again be visiting Asia and travelling to Indonesia for what would be the Club’s first visit to the country in 30 years.
The Indonesia trip will be the Club’s third trip to Asia in three years. In July 2011, the Arsenal first-team squad visited Hangzhou, China and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, playing a match in each country and also taking part in many activities with supporters in both countries.
In July 2012, the Arsenal first-team squad once again visited China, this time playing a match in Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Stadium, and also in Hong Kong. The team also visited Malaysia again, playing a match in Kuala Lumpur’s national stadium. During the tour, a number of activities were organized involving Arsenal players and Asia’s passionate supporters.
