REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian state-owned oil company Pertamina expands its business to United Arab Emirates (UAE) by cooperating with Al Saif Auto Spare Parts to sell its lubricant, Fastron. Vice President Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Ali Mudakir, said the initial stage of cooperation with Al Saif Auto Spare Parts was the export of a container of Fastron lubricant.
"Dubai and Sharjah are the main targets," Mudakir said on Wednesday.
This market expansion, he said, was realized due to increasing brand awareness of Pertamina products abroad. It is also supported by brand experience in Dubai market towards co-branding product of Pertamina and SK Lubricants. This product, focus in mid-low segment, has been sold in UAE since 2007.
Currently, Pertamina has exported Fastron to 22 countries, mainly to Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Vietnam. Pertamina's exports in the first half were 110,000 kiloliters out of whole-year target of 180,000 kiloliters.
