REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PONTIANAK - Hundreds people protest outside Malaysian Consulate in Pontianak on Thursday. The protesters were angered over the death sentence for two Indonesians in Malaysia, after the judged convicted them guilty of killing a person who tried to rob their house.

Two Indonesians from West Kalimantan named Frans Hiu (22 years) and Dharry Frully Hiu (20) were sentenced to death in Shah Alam High Court, Malaysia.

The protesters urged Shah Alam High Court, Malaysia, to call off the sentence. They said, Frans and Dharry were defending themselves when they accidentally killed Malaysian citizen, Kharti Raja. Raja tried to get in the house through the roof. Hiu tried to catch Raja, but he held him so tight that accidentally Raja choked to death.

Coordinator of the protesters, Hartono Azas, urged Malaysian Court to review the sentence for Frans and Dharry. "We ask Malaysian Government and Court to professionally maintain law and order. Yet, they cannot ignore available evidence which contrary to the verdict," he said.
