Egypt seeks cooperation with West Java

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG - Egypt business delegation visits West Java on Friday seeking cooperation on export and import of textile and information technology (IT). West Java is chosen due to its dense population and the province also has the most manufacture industry in Indonesia.

The Chief of Egypt delegation, Ahmad Amir Ali, said Egypt's trade and industry had increased after the fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. 

"We have cooperated with several countries in the world. Now, we are strengthening cooperation with China and Indonesia," he said on Friday. The cooperation with West Java will be followed up next year, he said.

An Egypt delegation on IT, Ahmad Abdel Wahed, said Egypt needed many human resources, particularly the experts on IT. Egypt recently develops cloud server that needs many manpowers.

Egypt also seeks cooperation on mining. The cooperation will be discussed further.

The Director of Foreign and Domestic Trade Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in West Java, Yusuv Suhyar, said Egypt sought cooperation with West Java on palm oil and textile. "We have cotton for textile, but unfortunately we cannot provice palm oil," he said. 

Suhyar plans to send West Java business delegation to Egypt to study the right business cooperation.
