President opens Indonesian Trade Expo

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Wednesday opened Indonesian trade exhibition in Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Wednesday. SBY was accompanied by Minister of Trade Gita Wirjawan, Governor of Jakarta Joko Widodo, foreign ambassadors, and domestic and foreign entrepreneurs.

The exhibition, held by Ministry of Trade, will be open until October 21. Entrepreneurs from all provinces in Indonesia and also state-owned companies exhibit their products. "From handicraft to aircraft," Minister Wirjawan said.

About 5,300 buyers from 100 countries are expected to attend the exhibition. Minister Wirjawan hopes the transaction reaches 2 billion USD.

The last year exhibition was attended by 8,300 buyers from 100 countries. The total transaction reached 225.9 million USD on goods and 238.5 million USD on manpower.
