China, Egypt, and Russia welcome Indonesia's green city project

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON - Indonesian Minister of Public Works Djoko Kirmanto said on the 48th International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP), Indonesia's green city project on Green City Development Program (P2KH) received positive response from China, Egypt, and Russia.

The congress, held in Moscow, used Fast Forward: Planning in a (hyper) dynamic urban context as its theme to share latest knowledge and experiences of city planning. P2KH is aimed to control development in order to balance city and village.

The idea gets positive response from China, Egypt, and Russia. Minister Kirmanto managed to meet Russian Urban Planning Agency (RUPA) on the sideline of the congress to seek for cooperation to strengthening the role and quality of Indonesian planners.

P2HK will create livable environment in the city and the development of rural area to tackle urbanization. Currently 60 cities in Indonesia commit to implement green city concept by providing green open space and improving infrastructure facilities.
