REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia was the main economic and trade partner for China and the opportunity on cooperation could be enhanced, the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Liu Jianchao, said on Wednesday.
"We have good relationships, based on mutual trust," he said after meeting Vice President Boediono in an introductory visit as a new China Ambassador to Indonesia.
Currently, he said, Indonesia and China experienced economic surge and both tried to strengthen ongoing economic relationship. Indonesia, he continued, was one of the biggest economic partners for China among the Asian countries. He also sees much potency for the investment.
"Chinese entrepreneurs will increase the investment in Indonesia in manufacture, mining, cement, fisheries, and tourism sectors," he said.
China sits on number three for the biggest number of tourists coming to Indonesia. The growth reaches 40 percent.
