REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK - The Minister of State-Owned Company, Dahlan Iskan, had a test-drive of an Indonesian-made electric car on Monday morning. Dahlan drove the car, named Ahmadi Mesin 5.0, for 48 kilometers, from Depok to the Ministry of Research and Technology in Central Jakarta.

Accompanied by the designer of the car, Dasep Ahmadi, Dahlan seemed enthusiastic while driving the car. He expects the car to be mass produced in the early of 2013. "Once the infrastructure is ready, we are sure that it can be mass produced for 5,000 units per year," Dahlan said.

The development of the car, he continued, must be focused on the quality. After the quality is tested, the regulation will be made. He also hopes that the price of the electric car will be cheaper.
