REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Finance plan to propose Governmental Regulation on environmentally friendly car to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). "This is a coordination between two ministries," the Ministry of Industry, MS Hidayat, said.

He explained, both ministries still drafted the regulation. The regulation on hybrid car, low cost green car, and other environmentally friendly cars will be governed by a policy named Low Emission Carbon.

The import duty for hybrid car, he continued, would be eliminated, but the producer must build its manufacture in Indonesia in two years. Government will also decrease the luxury tax to ease the consumers.

"The price of hybrid car will be on a par with non-hybrid," he said.
