REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIANJUR - The 5.0 scale Richter (SR) earthquake shocked the inhabitants of Cianjur, West Java, on Wednesday. They burst from their house fearing of aftershock.

The Agency of Meteorology, Geophysics, and Climatology (BMKG) says the earthquake happened at 11.55 am with the epicenter 55 kilometers of west-southwest of Cianjur.

"Most people came out from their house," an inhabitant, Rahmat (36 years), said. Rahmat said no house was damaged due to the earthquake. It also does not lead to tsunami.

Meanwhile, people in Sukabumi also felt the tremor. "People were panic. The earthquake was strong," an inhabitant of Sukabumi, Kurnia, said.
