REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Government will adopt one time zone in Indonesia this year to adjust the trading hour in the region. The policy on time zone was suggested by the Master Plan of Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI), the Coordinating Minister of Economy Hatta Rajasa said.

"President agrees to unite the time zones. We discuss it further," he said.

The uniting of time zone is expected to be more efficient and effective in the west and east regions of Indonesia. "If the east part has worked for two hours, people in the west are just starting. Now we will enter GMT +8," he explained.

Thus, west and east regions of Indonesia will adjust the central region. "We will speed up. It will be a problem if we did not conduct it soon," he said. The government will also socialize the policy. So far, he said, no region opposed to the plan.
