REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – PT Pindad aims to be the world class company as the challenge of global business competition rises. The leaping of the class is conducted to support the company’s vision.

“Pindad will be the leading manufacturer of armament in Asia on 2023,” the President Director of Pindad, Adik Aviantono Sudarsono, said on Sunday in Bandung.

Pindad is now producing some innovations in its products, such as Panzer 6x6, Assault Rifle SS2, G2 Pistol, and anti material ammunition up to caliber 122 millimeter. Government also asked Pindad to build the type  of medium tank.

The company also boosts the innovation on non-arsenal products, such as the traction motor for train and bus and seismic electric detonator for mining. “The priority is to serve government’s needs,” he said.

Pindad gains certifications of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 for quality product. The process of the production is also based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with the plan to go live this year started from arsenal division.

Sudarsono added all Pindad staffs are urged to innovate and improvise. Pindad also gives award and increasing salary for those who success.

On 2011, Pindad recorded its income in the amount of 1.5 trillion IDR, while this year its target is on 2 trillion IDR. From 2011 target, its special purpose vehicle gave the biggest contribution based on the contract with the Ministry of Defense and others.
