REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG - Bandung government hopes Bandung can be a historical tourist destination. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is urged to promote it in international world.

"Bandung is known by Asia African countries as the inspiration of victory," the Vice Mayor of Bandung, Ayi Vivananda, said on cultural parade to celebrate the 57 anniversary of Asia African Conference (AAC) on Sunday.

He said the potency of Bandung as historical tourism destination could not be taken for granted as it was the executor of AAC in 1955. Merdeka building, which was a conference location and now become a museum, is a potential tourist attraction for foreigners.

Bandung government also commits to hold the celebration of AAC annually. This year celebration of 57 years of AAC in Bandung is held from April 18 to 24.

"Braga Street will be a public space as it is located near Merdeka building," he said.

The Director of Information and Media of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Priatna, said Bandung would be the front image of Indonesian diplomacy. "57 years ago world saw Bandung as the executor of AAC. Bandung is always in the front for Indonesian diplomacy act," he said.
