Napabale, the salt water lake

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, Trapped in rocks covered with green trees, Napabale Lake situated in Muna, South East Sulawesi offers fascinating view. Napabale is like a bowl of water filling with ranging species of fish. The rocks circling the lake are stand like the guards. The hill around the lake is full with distinct kinds of trees, grass, and flowers, giving the cool and tranquilizing environment.

It blue salty water is connected to Napabale Sea through natural tunnel cave. Sea water runs to the lake through this tunnel. No wonder why the water is salty. 

Because of the tunnel, Napabale offers two options of tourism, lake and beach. The tourist can walk across the tunnel to get to the sea.

The local residents working as fishermen use this tunnel to go fishing in the sea. But, people can only across the tunnel when the water recedes in only 1.5 meters height. When the water is tide, it can reach five meters height and the tunnel drowned under the water. So, if you want to pass through the tunnel, ask the local resident to note the certain time!

Tourist can do sun-bathing, snorkling, surfing in Napabale Sea. And the children can play in the sand building sandcastle.

From Raha City in Muna, the tourists can go to Napabale via land or sea. It takes 30 minutes if using land transportation or you can rent a boat which only takes 15 minutes.
