REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The former Indonesian Ambassador to Netherlands, Junus Effendy Habibie, passed away in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) on Monday morning at 07.20 because of heart disease. The younger brother of former Indonesian president, BJ Habibie, was buried in Tanah Kusir Cemetery on 15.00 at local time.
Since the last two months, JE Habibie or known as Fanny Habibie often visited the hospital to check his heart condition, the nephew, Didit Ratam said. Fanny’s condition was getting worse at Sunday night. The late had left a wife, three children, and eight grand children.
"We are deeply saddened by the death of Ambassador Fanny Habibie - younger brother of BJ Habibie, Member of our Board of Trustees, mentor, trusted advisor, and supporter. We will surely miss his spirit, his wisdom and his kind heart," the Habibie Center said on the Twitter account.
