Dave Koz: Indonesia as the second home

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – We may surprise to know that Indonesia is the second home to a world famous musician, David Koz.  Almost every year he comes to Indonesia as he also actively collaborated with some Indonesian musicians. Not only jazz, but he has also performed with an Indonesian pop rock band named Ada Band. 

Born on March 27, 1960 and grown up in San Fernando, Los Angeles, US, Koz released his first album in 1990. He has produced 10 albums until recently. Dave Koz is popular enough as sax musician with urban contemporary, light jazz, and pop style. His name is often compared to another famous saxophonist, David Sanborna and Koz is often called as the Second Sanborn.

His brother introduced saxophone to his life. The man who graduated from UCLA then decided to become a saxophonist. In his life, he has released several albums, Dave Koz, Lucky Man, Off The Beaten Path, December Makes Me Feel This Way, and Dave Koz & Friends - A Smooth Jazz Christmas (2001).

He also has been achieved some awards. He was nominated nine times in Grammy Award. His name is immortalized in Walk of Fame. His popular songs are Let It Free, Together Again, Silver lining dan Anything's Possible. And how do you think he surprise his audience? He playes Indonesian songs such Aku Cinta Padamu, from Ruth Sahanaya. Then… anticipate the next surprise!
